Your eyes open to the sight of a tall, misty, primeval forest. Clutched in your hand is a familiar object, which you won't look at yet. You feel so small, now, and maybe you are smaller. As you walk through the thick trees, the branches supposedly waving in the wind look unsettling and off. The trees cast longer shadows, and their branches wave like sign language. The mist is thick and it looks certainly like fog, but it moves in an unnatural way. Yet, these unnatural movements are consistent - it is simply the laws of this world. The creatures, few and far between, stare silently as you pass. Stare long enough, and you swear you hear them whisper, "beware the wolves".

You find your way to a clearing, where the light of the sun pierces the clouds and mist and shines strongly on a collection of stones and boulders embedded in the earth. When you step into the light, you do not feel heat. Everything is so different, but somehow you feel comfortable. There is a power thrumming through the air, and you feel it resonate deep in your heart. You finally look at the object you had picked up before falling asleep, and you recognize that it gives you power here. Through it, you hear the world whispering at you to engulf yourself, to run and seek and immerse yourself in all that is. And you feel compelled to answer the call.

The Spirit Wilds is a game about exploration and the pursuit of power. Featuring a simple tabletop-like mechanics system, players have a tangible mark of progress for participation as their characters explore the world and grow wiser and stronger - Activity Check is built to grant the characters "Essence Points". The world is that of the Hisil - the Shadow Realm from the lore of Werewolf: The Forsaken... in the time before the death of Father Wolf, the primal god that patrolls the Border between the Spirit and Material realms.
